Veterans Benefits
Veterans Benefits
We work hard assisting Veterans with the non-service connected VA benefit often known as the “Aid & Attendance” program. The Michigan Veterans’ Administration Aid and Attendance program is available to Veterans who need assistance with basic daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. The benefits can be paid to someone outside the home, (which may include family members) or to the Veteran’s spouse, or to an assisted living facility.
Veterans may use these funds in any manner they wish, including their care. In addition if you are eligible for Medicaid, you are not required to use the Aid and Attendance benefit for your nursing home care.
As Michigan elder law attorneys who are accredited by the Veterans Administration, we are committed to helping Veterans get all the benefits they are entitled to and making the qualification process as stress-free as possible. We believe Veterans’ Benefits are an important, and sadly, under-utilized tool to help America’s heroes care for themselves and the people they love.
As a nationally recognized VA accredited attorney helping Michigan veterans, I look forward to hearing from you and assisting your family.
The Michigan veterans benefit of Aid and Attendance and Homebound status is available to veterans who are totally disabled or are over the age of 65. This additional entitlement can bring in additional money to help pay for home care, assisted living or nursing home care.
